Rod Ciocho

Rod Ciocho began his practice of Yoga to help with pain associated with scoliosis and muscular imbalance. He soon discovered how Yoga also helps to calm the mind, minimizing the worry and frustration that revolves around a chronic condition. Rod teaches from this perspective, giving students a practical, non-dogmatic, class that encourages them to develop their own awareness of the habitual patterns of the mind and body. He has studied various styles of Yoga and carefully integrates the most practical aspects to create a fun, interesting and effective class.

Rod Ciocho instructs the following:
  • Hatha Yoga
  • Hatha yoga is a foundational, slower-paced yoga modality focusing on holding physical postures (asanas) while also utilizing dynamic movements and mobility in combination with various breathing techniques (pranayama) to align body, mind, and spirit.
In Sanskrit, 'ha' means sun and 'tha' means moon. Together, Hatha symbolizes the union of opposites, balancing and harmonizing the active solar yang energy (Pingala) with the receptive yin lunar energy (Ida).

This class is ideal for those seeking a moderately physically challenging class, focusing on balance, strength, mobility, vitality, and mindfulness; perfectly suited to support a person on their path in these changing times.  Although this is not a "beginner" class, this class is appropriate for beginners to advanced practitioners.
