Restorative & Yin Yoga

Restorative Yoga

Renew and restore the facets of yourself with supported, deeply relaxed healing poses and soothing music. The main focus of Restorative Yoga is that by relaxing in poses, with the aid of props, without strain or pain, we can achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga targets the joints, fascia, and connective tissue in order to create more space in the body and a greater range of motion. Yin Yoga unites the Body, Mind, and Breath. Calming the breath allows the body to get quiet, when the body is still, the mind can relax, which calms the entire nervous system. Practicing Yin helps you feel more flexible, peaceful, and refreshed.

Unlike other types of yoga, Yin poses are held for longer periods, allowing the tender connective tissues to strengthen and lengthen. Yin yoga can be done by all types of people at all different levels of experience and flexibility because you rely on your own body’s wisdom to let you know how far to go.

Restorative Yoga & Reiki

Take a break from the stress of daily life and calm the sympathetic nervous system so the parasympathetic nervous system can take over, allowing the body, mind and spirit to restore, relax, recover and heal.  Restorative Yoga is an accessible practice for every body as it is designed to gently encourage the relaxation response.

The class begins with grounding pranayama (breath work) and some pratapana (gentle stretching).  After this, we move into restorative poses using props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks. We do anywhere from 3 to 6 poses, holding for 5-15 minutes each in a beautiful space that is candlelight, quiet, warm and safe.

Michele always infuses the room with reiki and sometimes administers reiki to those students who need or want it.  Typically each class has a theme relating to yogic philosophy.  Honor your body and quietly rejuvenate your spirit while the poses soothe the systems of the body and allow the brain to quiet.

Restorative Yoga + TRE®

Renew and restore the facets of yourself with supported, deeply relaxed healing poses and soothing music. The main focus of Restorative Yoga is that by relaxing in poses, with the aid of props, without strain or pain, we can achieve physical, mental, and emotional relaxation.

Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (or TRE®) is a simple yet innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension, and trauma. TRE safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.

Dance Wave

Dance Wave

Come experience this fun & moving class that will help you release stuck energy from the body for greater clarity in the mind! In this class, there's a wisdom in the progression of movement, like the motion of a wave…beginning with a flow of life, moving the body intuitively, without words, without actual dance moves; this is an intuitive journey inwards.

Initially, it might feel challenging to shrug off self-consciousness…make sounds, and move in ways that aren’t necessarily “pretty” - but you're given the ultimate freedom to let go of societal norms, inhibitions, self-censorship, and MOVE from an inner voice. This is a safe and creative space to dance and let go.

There is NO right or wrong way to move! You'll be given prompts along with corresponding rhythmic music, and your inner guide will be the compass.
